Description
Start your two-day adventure with a visit to the Uros Islands on Lake Titicaca. We’ll pick you up at your hotel and head to the port of Puno, where we’ll board a motorized boat that will take us to the floating islands of the Uros. Here, you’ll learn about the island-building techniques and daily life of the Uros.
Itinerary
Day 1:
Start your two-day adventure with a visit to the Uros Islands on Lake Titicaca. We’ll pick you up at your hotel and head to the port of Puno, where we’ll board a motorized boat that will take us to the floating islands of the Uros. Here, you’ll learn about the island-building techniques and the daily life of the Uros. You’ll be able to interact with the inhabitants and enjoy a ride on a totora reed raft (optional).
We’ll continue our journey to Amantaní Island, one of the natural islands on Lake Titicaca. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by local families who will host you in their homes. You’ll enjoy a typical lunch, and in the afternoon, you’ll take part in a hike to the Pachatata and Pachamama temples, located on the island’s peaks. From here, you’ll be able to enjoy a panoramic view of the lake and its surroundings.
In the evening, you will share a traditional dinner with your host family and have the opportunity to participate in a local party with typical music and dances.
Day 2:
After breakfast, we will say goodbye to our host families and head towards Taquile Island. Upon arrival, we will explore this beautiful island known for its handcrafted textiles, considered Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. We will take a walk to the center of the island, where we will visit the main square and the artisan market.
You will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant with spectacular views of the lake. After exploring Taquile, we will return to Puno by motorized boat, arriving in the afternoon. We will drop you off at your hotel, completing an unforgettable cultural and natural experience on Lake Titicaca.
